[ Time has changed so much - quite literally, considering their travels - but some things are still exactly the same. Magic is the same, the natives are the same, even if they're a touch less suspicious - the people and shardholders are the same... But history won't be. Coming back like this, using all the power she had to lead and guide... Hermione had hoped that they could change the future, that they could avoid the Seelie and Unseelie warfare as much as she could.
The fact that it was possible was a relief, and made her feel comfortable, at peace - able to finally, finally, visit her family out in the open, without fear of death or punishment.
Hermione comes and the people know her, now, even if they don't know her as the same person the older Drabwurld did. She's not a Marchioness anymore, not one of the leaders of the Citadel, but she is an Ambassador, a healer, a friend, and she comes with gifts, herbs and potions for anyone that needs them, a fierce word and a hand on her sword to protect those that might be threatened. She might not be the Sorceress and Protectress anymore but it hangs in her all the same, a part of her blood and a part of who she has become.
They're more scared of her direwolf than they are of her, and she finds it charming and hilarious in equal measure.
Romulus doesn't join in the fun and games with Nasrin's dogs, but Godric does, fluttering around and woofing into the air before Hermione turns to her sister, listening. ]
I don't miss the Citadel too much. It felt like I was chained to Solais there, even when I tried to make my office my own. I worked with the Red Hand and I tried to help people, but it was like she was always watching me. [ She breathes out, laying back and closing her eyes, fighting back the hurts. ] I miss being able to help people more. Using my power for good, trying to save as many people as was possible. I wasn't really born to be a leader, but I was doing my best.
THAT'S OKAY i love you
